Firemen

We saw firemen at the grocery store today. They praised Ariana for being a good bagger, and chastised the boys for not helping (there was no one bagging in our lane so Ariana took on that task. Honor wasn't there.)

Conan's favorite book right now is a truck book that he can push buttons and hear sounds. His favorite truck is the fire truck. I pointed to the firemen and he dutifully made the siren sound. They made the sound right back at him.

Despite the fact that I always referred to them as "firemen," Conan continually talked about the "fire truck men" all day.

I just loved that.

We Prefer "Gender"

Honor was playing with the pink dolphin that Evie gave her...

Honor: "I want to call her Fins. Do you think that's a good name?"

Mommy: "Sure. I like it."

Honor: "She's a girl..."

Mommy: "It's okay. Fins can be a boy's or girl's name."

Samuel: "It's her sex name."

Mommy: "What!!???!!!!"

Samuel: "It's her sex name."

Mommy: "What do you think sex means?"

Samuel: "You know, boy or girl. Short for unisex."

Mommy: "Just don't ever say that again."
