Fashionista

These were the shoes Ariana wanted to wear with her dress this morning:

I told her that she couldn't wear boots to church.

She changed her shoes to these:

I'm in trouble....

Cherished Time

I'm uploading this video for two purposes:

First, so my readers who do not regularly hear Samuel's voice can understand why I think some of the stuff he says is extra funny--this voice is the cutest!

Second, to give a small glimpse into my favorite part of the day: bedtime.

And that is why I jealously guard this special time with my kiddos each day.

Grand Champion

Daddy: "Look at all the trophies I have." (From playing video games on Playstation)

Mommy: "1899???"

Daddy: "Yeah."

Mommy: "Wow...that's sad..."

Samuel: "No. That's COOL!"

Old TV Shows

Connor: "We got to watch Leave It To Beaver at Grandma's house."

Samuel: "I didn't like it because I like shows that are in color."

Connor: "I liked it. It was like Lassie without the dog."

No Phone Calls

Ariana: "Mom, look what else Gracie took outside!"

(Our little puppy enjoys sneaking off with our things and taking them out the dog door).

Ariana held up our house phone.

Mommy: "Oh no! That's not good.  I'm glad you found that!"

Ariana: "I know!"  (To the dog) "You're not allowed to talk on the phone!"

This just made me smile.

Bilingual

Samuel: "Mom, do you speak London?"

Mommy: "Yes."

Samuel: "Wow!"

Connor: "Samuel, it's just English with a different tone..."

I got a vivid image of Connor trying to speak "London" to an Englishman...and laughed for five minutes straight.

Snack Time

We were given a lovely loaf of zucchini bread around Christmas, which we placed in our fridge...and forgot. About a month ago, we rediscovered the zucchini bread. I meant to remove it from the fridge and give it to the pigs, but I never got around to it.

Today the kids decided to get their own snack. You guessed it: 4 month old zucchini bread.  They told me about it after the fact.

In the words of Connor:

"It's okay Mom.  We ate around the big black spot in the middle."

Enjoy your dinner!

House of Laundry

Samuel: "Con-nor! Will you help me build a house?"

Connor (From downstairs): "What about out snack shack?"

Samuel: "Well, I want to build a house, but I need help with the plans and you're my friend. The girls won't help me and you and I always work together and I need your help."

Connor's answer is muffled.

Samuel: "But I need help with the plans! Fine. I'll do it myself."

Connor replies again so only Samuel can hear.

Samuel: "Great!  I'll get the toys!  We'll need some rope, and some boxes, and 4 bricks, and some dirty laundry..." (his voice faded as he joined his brother downstairs.

Samuel isn't much of a carpenter...
