into our truck and will be leaving tonight/tomorrow around 1:00 am--despite all of the weather warnings. Soooooo if you think about it, send a little prayer up for our safety. And to our parents--YES we are watching the weather, YES we have blankets in the truck, YES we will stop if the weather turns bad, and YES we are still planning on driving through the night after Paul gets home from his 8 hour shift...

EEWWW That Smell

You know you've changed WAY too many diapers when, from downstairs in the kitchen, you can not only smell a stinky diaper from a child upstairs in their bedroom, but you know to whom the diaper belongs!

What's in a name?

As many of you know, I do not like how Conner and Airianna's name is currently spelled. If we get to adopt them, I will be changing the spelling. Airianna's will definitely be changed to Ariana. However, I am still up in the air with Conner's spelling. The meaning of a name is VERY important to me. Honor means "adherence to that which is right", Samuel means "asked of God", Ariana means "Holy One" (far cry from her right now! :-D), but Conner has different meanings depending on the spelling. Conor means "wise aid", and Connor means "wolf-lover". To me that makes a big difference. So I'm leaning towards spelling Conner as Conor. However, it is not as popular a way to spell the name. Also, it gets a little weird with the whole Honor/Conor thing. But people will inevitably misspell his name anyway and it makes teaching them how to spell their name that much easier if they are spelled basically the same...what do you think? Of course all of this means nothing until severance/adoption occurs so I guess the choice may not be up to me anyway....

Bunk Bed for the Girls

I soooooooooooo want to get this bed for the girls! Of course this particular bed is $2,995, but we can get the plans for this bed for only $95. Now....does anyone have a spare table saw, jig saw and router, etc.?

I'll Be Home For Christmas

I'm leaving in 1 Day for vacation!!! For those of you who do not know, our WHOLE family (including the dogs)will be driving to my parents' house to be there Dec. 23rd- Jan. 4th! Although much of that time is already spoken for, I do want to see as many people as possible, so if you are going to be in town the 24th-the 4th, let me know!!!

I'm a blogger!!!!

Okay. I am about to let everyone know about my life as a mommy. Those who are closest to me hear my daily battles with my children as well as the multitude of joys that come with having 4 children 3 and under--and now I am opening it up to you! My life may be boring to some, but to me, it is full of daily entertainment better than any drama, comedy or tragedy. So, if you dare to read, I will try to update this with daily stories. Enjoy!

My Goal in Life

As with many Christian women, my goal is to live up to the ideal Proverbs 31 woman. I would like to apply all of Proverbs 31 to my life (and all of Proverbs!--and all of the Bible while I'm at it!), but especially the parts that are in bold--and ESPECIALLY the parts that are in red bold. I fall short of this on an hourly basis, but that is why it is a goal!

Proverbs 31: 11-31

Who can find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far above rubies. The heart of her husband safely trusts her; so he will have no lack of gain. She does him good and not evil all the days of her life. She seeks wool and flax, and willingly works with her hands. She is like the merchant ships, she brings her food from afar. She also rises while it is yet night, and provides food for her household, and a portion for her maidservants. She considers a field and buys it; from her profits she plants a vineyard. She girds herself with strength, and strengthens her arms. She perceives that her merchandise is good, and her lamp does not go out by night. She stretches out her hands to the distaff, and her hand holds the spindle. She extends her hand to the poor, yes, she reaches out her hands to the needy. She is not afraid of snow for her household, (ha, ha!) for all her household is clothed with scarlet. She makes tapestry for herself; her clothing is fine linen and purple. Her husband is known in the gates, when he sits among the elders of the land. She makes linen garments and sells them, and supplies sashes for the merchants. Strength and honor are her clothing; she shall rejoice in time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom, and on her tongue is the law of kindness. She watches over the ways of her household, and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “Many daughters have done well, but you excel them all.” Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, but a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her own works praise her in the gates.
