Conan WAS sleeping from 9:30ish pm to 4ish am. It was nice. Then he began another growth spurt. Now it is 10 -12, 1-3, 4-5:30, 6:30-8. That means, I get a total of 6 hours of interrupted sleep each night (I get up before him to take a shower and start breakfast...).
Good thing I am forced to lie around all day feeding him.
I wouldn't mind the growth spurt so much if he would actually GROW.
Sigh.

Schoolwork
Typical school time lecture:
"Connor...do your work."
...
"Connor...do your work."
...
"Connor, stop looking at me to see if I'm going to lecture you about what you're doing. If you know you shouldn't be doing something, don't watch me to see if I notice you doing it...don't do it in the first place..."
...
"Do your work."
All. After. Noon.
Not frustrating at all...

Real Strength
Daddy decided to watch "Conan the Destroyer" this evening.
Samuel: "He's so strong, he fights naked!"
Yep. Pretty much.

Bandage
After tripping a few days ago, Ariana put ice on her knee for 10 minutes and then played the rest of the day as if there was nothing wrong. The following morning, she limped around the living room for an hour. After I refused to put a band-aid on her knee because it wasn't bleeding and would do no good, she decided to take matters into her own hands...
Yes, that is toilet paper.
And yes, her limping miraculously stopped once this bandage was put in place.
I'm surprised she didn't demand crutches...

That's A Problem
Ariana was assigned the task of writing a word problem in math. This was how she began her problem:
I'm not sure I like where this is going...
"Mom had many children. She had to sell them..."
I'm not sure I like where this is going...

Make Your Choice
When we go to the library, we routinely return home with 25-30 books consisting of science books, biographies, children's fiction, and books for me to read aloud. This week's haul included some Choose Your Own Adventure books.
While searching through the pile of books, Ariana spied "Pilgrim's Progress" (children's edition). She turned to me, her face alight with excitement, and asked, "Is this one where you get to choose where you go?"
Hmmm... not sure how to answer that one...

4 a.m.
When looking down at the sleeping child cradled in my arms--his rosy cheek resting on my chest, his little lips turning up in a dream-induced smile, his perfect little eyelashes fluttering ever so softly in his R.E.M. state, his tiny hands clasping my nightgown tightly as if he never wants me to leave--it is difficult to decide if I want to return to my nice, warm bed, or stay in this moment forever.
